Period Health: Learn About 5 Tea Herbs for PMS and Period Pain Relief

I'm popping in to share five tea herbs that naturally helps to relieve your frustrations with your monthly pms symptoms and period pain.

As a practitioner, I understand how chronic pms and period pain can become a huge inconvenience for you in your everyday life.

And, when experienced routineIy, it affects other areas of your wellbeing - like your mood, your sleep, your appetite, your work and family life.

Herbal tea is a simple, often under-rated, natural remedy for your pms symptoms and period pain.

Plus, using natural herbs beat having to reach for a bottle of damaging pain-killers that have a negative impact on your gut and liver health over-time.

So, get ready to kick your pms and period pain to the side with these five herbs I discuss below.

1. Chamomile Herb for PMS and Period Pain

Chamomile or matricaria recutita possesses anti-spasmodic properties that relieves muscle spasms in your stomach, abdomen and uterus.

If your period pain is due to tension and restriction in those regions, chamomile can most definitely help relieve symptoms like bloating, constipation, and cramping.

Drinking 1 to 2 cups of tea made with chamomile days before your period and throughout your period can help.

What makes chamomile more fitting is the natural calming and relaxing effect this herbs has on your mind and body.

There's a compound named apigenin found in chamomile that helps reduce the impact of excitatory neurotransmitter and hormones on the mind and body, helping to soothe an overactive nervous system.

You can find chamomile in our Period Tea and Womb Steams.

2. Dandelion Root Herb for PMS and Period Pain

Dandelion root or taraxacum is another great herb that helps to prevent pms and period pain.

Your period symptoms can and will be worse when there is excess hormones like estrogen floating around in your body and your liver is stagnant and backed-up with toxins and hormones.

Dandelion root plays a role in purifying you blood, supporting your liver health, detoxing your body (clearing excess hormones and toxins).

Dandelion's main health benefits are not just for your period health. The benefits of this herb extends far pass your pms symptoms and period pain.

You can find dandelion root herb in my Cleansing Tea and Period Tea.

3. Red Raspberry Leaf Herb for PMS and Period Pain

Red raspberry leaf or rubus idaeus is an astringent herb that works to alleviate your period pain by toning your uterine and pelvic floor muscles.

Period pain and severe cramps can be a result of weak uterine muscles.

The secrets behind the use of raspberry leaf to improve your period health is it's fragarine and tannis properties.

Fragarine strengthens the longitudinal muscles of the uterus and keeps it healthy and toned.

While tannis, a type of polyphenol, acts as an antioxidant. Both fragarine and tannis are helpful in relieving your pain of period.

Raspberry leaf tea is also rich in vitamins and minerals like iron, vitamin C, vitamin B magnesium and potassium.

You can find red raspbery leaf in my Period Tea and Womb Steams.

4. Ginger for PMS and Period Pain

Ginger or zingiber is a great herbal tea for period pain due to its anti-inflammatory properties.

Ginger is an all-around amazing pms and period pain relief herb because it helps to target your inflammation at the source and stop pain.

This natural herb and spice is just as effective as common NSAID's like ibuprofen.

Ginger helps to mediate the production of prostaglandins, a group of hormone-like lipid compounds that are found in almost every tissue of your body.

During your period prostaglandins cause the muscles and blood vessels of your uterus to contract, which can contribute to period pain. Levels are usually high during the first few days of your period.

You can drink tea with ginger in it daily.

5. Peppermint Leaf for PMS and Perion Pain

Peppermint or mentha piperita is another great herbal tea for pms and perid pain releif due to its muscle relaxant effects.

A study looking at the effects of peppermint on period pain in women found that it helped to reduce the severity of pain and improve menstrual-related symptoms.

Peppermint is advised for treating dysmenorrhea (period pain) and has lower side-effects compared to medicinal drugs like all herbs.

Incorporating peppermint tea is a great way to help prevent or ease your pms and period tea.
